Making Trail

During the last two weeks, Singletrack Advocates has hosted five group trail work sessions in Kincaid Park. The volunteer turnout has been overwhelming! Our thanks go to each one of you for coming out to sculpt the tread, put an angle on the upslope, lop the roots and rake & tamp the soil...Thanks! Your hard work has helped us hand-tool nearly two miles of new trail!

Some local groups provided volunteers:
  Mighty Bikes
  Alaska Dirt Divas
Arctic Bicycle Club, Mountain Racing Division

Alaska Trails is providing the tools and safety equipment.

August 14: We'll miss these young people when they leave for college this week!
Our friends fed us:
Schlotzsky's Deli provided delicious pizzas the first Wednesday.
Adventure Appetites prepared burritos last Wednesday!

We counted 47 volunteers on Wednesday evening!
We'll continue to host trail work sessions each Monday and Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m. until freeze-up. Watch our facebook page for updates - this Monday, we'll be at the Raspberry Trailhead. Come join us, and bring your friends and family! See you on the trails!
